The Saṃskāra capsule collection is a return to origins, awakened in Mallorca.

Vibrating with a pure Spanish spirit manifested through delicate Banarasi craftsmanship, thoughtful designs are steeped in the art, craft and heritage of my father’s birthplace, Varanasi. Resplendent woven silks, prismatic prints, embellished motifs, and rich antique embroidery – brimming artisan pieces are imbued with intense hues and deftly tailored to reclaim and preserve a time-honored provenance. Simple, yet heavily storied silhouettes reflect an easy lightness and fluidity, embodying a sense of softness, sensuality and sophistication. The Saṃskāra collection proclaims a fresh poised luxury, unaffected by passing trends, epitomizing the notion that true beauty lies in life’s unfiltered moments and unhurried rhythms.

Mallorca’s veins are sacred. It’s where I get lost in the Mediterranean countryside, nurtured in the mountains’ protective embrace and feel reborn at the sea – mornings painted with sunlight, evenings adorned with stars and indoors and outdoors coalesce in perfect dance. The island strips away irrelevancy and connects us to what is without filters– gently bringing you back to what it feels to find purpose. It’s beauty is raw and forgiving. It’s gravity is a powerful one to experience. This is where I’ve woven my story, nestled in the spirit between two cultures and enchanting nature of this Island. Here, I first found myself as an artist, and here I came to heal from my father’s passing – creating with care, curiosity and intricacy.

Saṃskāras are impressions – developed patterns arising from imprints of life experiences and this collection is born from a process of healing, learning and a change of seasons.

My father’s given name is Kamal, meaning “lotus flower” in Sanskrit. Despite rising from the murkiest waters, the lotus flower’s pristine beauty symbolizes purity, enlightenment, overcoming adversity, and rebirth. This collection creates a new beginning, paying homage to personal heirlooms, and extolling the celebration of life and its art, at the heart of everything Omaskas.

HIGH SUMMER

As a soulful narrative collage, laced in threads of grace, muse Erica Almeida moves us with spirit. Photographed on both digital and film, the campaign mirrors the rich diversity of the wild rhythms of nature with sensitivity and an accumulation of tradition – saṃskāras that make a single piece an heirloom. Returning to simple – observing life just as it is during high summer, letting the dance of the ambient light create contrast in shadows, and reveal the nuances of silhouettes.

Alongside golden urban sunrises in the city and crimson sunsets along the coast, the island gave us the space to move freely – all while intoxicated on the love of life itself.
