Omaskas is an evolving study of fabric, form, and feeling.

A womenswear collection and lifestyle brand, Omaskas poetically reimagines resort wear through craftsmanship, intention, and an enduring sense of ease. Moving beyond season and destination, each piece is considered in its making, its movement, and how it makes one feel.

Rooted in folkloric origin, Omaskas means “sunrise” — where the sun drapes the soul. Grounded in nature, artistry, and emotional expression, the collections bring the rhythm and grace of European tailoring into dialogue with the intricate craftsmanship of South Asia.

Natural materials, hand-developed prints, and traditional techniques are explored through texture, movement, and their relationship to the body. Silhouettes evolve slowly and intuitively, allowing the material to find its form while carrying traces of memory and place.

Omaskas is devoted to a thoughtful design community — one that honors artistic vision and the human hand. Each piece carries the voice of local artisans, interpreting traditional techniques through a modern lens. Collections are created with continuity in mind — quietly expressive, enduring pieces intended to transcend a single season.

At its heart, Omaskas explores the intimacy between material and emotion — creating clothing not simply for where one is going, but for how one wishes to feel.

Omaskas is led by its founder, designer, and filmmaker Sheela Mehrotra, whose work is shaped by a cross-cultural and cinematic perspective. A cancer survivor and lifelong traveler, Sheela creates from a space of quiet gratitude and intention — a language beyond words that defines both her life and her label.

She launched Omaskas in Europe while living between Spain and the South of France, and has since extended her creative practice to the Middle East and Japan, encompassing collection design, capsule collaborations, and brand consulting. Her work draws instinctively from nature, architecture, movement, and the artisanal traditions encountered through travel — a quiet synthesis of artistry, function, and expression that continues to shape the soul of Omaskas.
